I believe in creating a safe and empathic space for a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Among the range of reasons that people begin therapy, there seems to be a common thread: people often want to improve some aspect of their emotional and mental health. In our work together, we will explore the areas of your life that are challenging or distressing, access and process difficult emotions, and make meaning of patterns in your unique narrative.

My practice is based in relational, psychodynamic and strengths-based theoretical orientations. I also integrate narrative and feminist approaches to enrich and empower the existing resilience in each client. I have specialized experience in working with transgender and queer individuals and provide affirming, nonjudgmental therapy for all folks from age 4 to 54.

Each session provides an opportunity for strength, self-awareness, and self-compassion, and I strive to provide a supportive and holding environment for such growth to be possible. Everyone deserves space to be curious about themselves.

While my practice is specialized to provide non-pathologizing and affirming therapy for queer and trans individuals, I welcome clients of all gender identities and orientations. I look forward to sharing in your journey and self exploration.

FEES:

My standard fee for individual session is $170. My standard fee for couples and families is $210. Please contact me to discuss fee structures before we begin. I reserve time in my practice for several sliding scale spaces, and can answer questions about availability as well.

I am out of network with all insurance plans. As an out-of-network provider, I can work with you to see if you are eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company.

Training & Speaking

I offer training and speaking services to community based organizations, schools, and healthcare agencies that prioritize cultural competency in LGBTQ issues for their staff and students. If your organization might benefit from consultation, speaking services, or training, let’s discuss how I can meet those needs.

Through my consulting work, I have assisted schools and organizations build a better understanding of gender identity development, the ways that being a queer person affects experiences as a student, a patient, and a community member, and explore paths to make their spaces safer for queer and trans individuals.

As a trained sex educator and social worker, I have also taught comprehensive sexuality education to high schoolers and college students as a semester long elective class, in a weekend retreat format, and one-time guest speaker.
